Commenting before completing the whole article: Trump's Kharg strike, from the video he posted, seems like it was localized on the island's airstrip and air traffic control tower and didn't target any industrial/shipping infrastructure. There was also a strike on what could have been an underground depot entrance.
Hitting the airstrip implies they aren't going to try to land on Kharg anytime soon (which is a relief because it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do).
I saw some videos of a guy the morning after and life just went on. But I also saw info about people across the sea asking what was going on from relatives as they felt tremours all the way there. I've read somewhere on the net that the marine expeditionary unit is not intended to suicidally pass the Hormuz and assault Kharg island. That they are actually destined for Lebanon, to reinforce the Israeli schmoffensive there, because the IOF is such a failure. So now we will have the Marines murdering Lebanese civilians, a task they are eminently better suited for than facing Iran's military.
Unfortunately I cannot find the link; but I believe that hypothesis reasonable.
Although, I think -watching their training videos- I doubt they will be ready for Hezbollah. H has been fighting all their lives, whilst the Marines have been training mostly. They're going to get a crash-course in how war actually works in my opinion. (not saying that H is going to survive unscathed... But they'll make them pay big time imho)
As a former Marine who was in the 2nd CH53 Sea Stallion shot down at Koh Tang island in March of 75, I agree that these Marines have a very low chance of survival.
We were a "show of force" so that the Us could bomb Cambodia at will because 8 days earlier the Vietnam war was declared over and as we all know the US left Vietnam in a hurry with it tail between it's legs.
I don't know what this Marine operation is about but to me this looks the same as in 75.

If Israel does decide to go for the Samson Option (nuke Iran), I doubt it would lead to a 1945-style surrender by Iran. Quite the oppose I think.
My hunch would be that Iran would still vow to fight to the end and acquire one or more nukes itself. Perhaps they could convince North Korea to ship nukes to them to "test their efficacy under real-time conditions". Of course, by then major currencies would be in full scale collapse and the world economy probably go into a hyperinflationary depression. Pitchforks to come out everywhere, also in the US.
If they launch a nuclear strike, they won't do it with just one warhead. In for a penny, in for a pound. Of course at that point every Iranian ballistic missile capable of reaching Israel would be fired, achieving a similar effect. Madness.

I’m not so sure. Pakistan has declared it would nuke Israel if they nuked Iran, but they are a US client, so I kinda doubt that too.
Commenting before completing the whole article: Trump's Kharg strike, from the video he posted, seems like it was localized on the island's airstrip and air traffic control tower and didn't target any industrial/shipping infrastructure. There was also a strike on what could have been an underground depot entrance.
Hitting the airstrip implies they aren't going to try to land on Kharg anytime soon (which is a relief because it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do).
People can post any video they want. Doesn't mean it is accurate or true.
If there was damage to the refinery infrastructure there would be corroboration. Iran hasn't claimed it was struck, to my knowledge.

I saw some videos of a guy the morning after and life just went on. But I also saw info about people across the sea asking what was going on from relatives as they felt tremours all the way there. So likely bunkerbusters were used? Nothing else would be able to generate that kind of force I think. Bit overkill in my opinion though.
